What Vanta is looking for in applicants
As a Director of Product, you will build and lead a team of PMs in defining the strategy and vision of core components of the Vanta product. 
At Vanta, our mission is to secure the internet and protect consumer data. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it. 
As a Director of Product, you will own and set the strategy for one of Vanta’s core product lines. You will be responsible for delivering results in a consistent, sustainable way, for growing and developing your team, and for contributing to the definition of Vanta’s product team culture and processes. 
What you’ll do as a Director of Product at Vanta:
  • Lead a team of PMs in defining the strategy and vision for your product line
  • Set your team’s goals, success metrics and roadmap to align with Vanta’s mission and drive maximum impact based on data analysis and market research
  • Lead and align cross functional partners and teams: engineers, designers, marketers and business partners to drive a shared vision
  • Manage and develop a team of product managers to execute against a comprehensive and unified roadmap
  • Grow Vanta’s team by hiring a diverse set of talented product managers
  • Design an inclusive organization representing Vanta’s culture and values
  • Play an integral role in laying the foundation for Vanta’s product team culture
How to be successful in this role:
  • Have four or more years of management experience 
  • Have a track record of building high performing product teams that deliver results
  • Be confident in decision-making, providing concise, clear, direct communication
  • Have a strong cross-functional relationship building with high empathy to understand the needs of other businesses and priorities
  • Strong ability to work with full autonomy and little direct oversight
  • Prior experience at high growth tech companies a plus

About Vanta
We started Vanta in 2016 as Equifax had lost every American's social security number, Home Depot had leaked its customers' credit card numbers to hackers, and Facebook admitted that it irresponsibly sent user data to third parties who tried to influence the US election. It was clear that security and privacy had become mainstream issues, and that we all increasingly relied on cloud services to store everything from our personal photos to our communications at work.
Vanta's mission is to be the layer of trust on top of these services, and to secure the internet, increase trust in software companies, and keep consumer data safe.
We do this by building an automated head of security for technology companies, and we use that system to both help a company secure itself and to prove their security to others.
If we succeed in our mission, it should feel irresponsible for users to put data into a product that isn't certified by Vanta, and irresponsible for companies to collect data without using Vanta to secure and monitor themselves.
