About the Role

Ramp is at an important inflection point where we are hiring leaders to scale key growth functions at the company. We are looking for a world-class leader of Search Engine Optimization to join our growth team. The leader will own organic traffic goals and will work directly with our growth, marketing and product leaders to drive them.  

What You’ll Do

  • Own the SEO strategy, program, team execution, and tracking and performance SEO channel including technical optimizations
  • Lead a team of talented SEO professionals, contractor, and agencies
  • Drive a hypothesis-driven, analytics approach in leading Conversion Rate Optimization s for the channel
  • Monitor and analyze SEO digital channel performance and maintain reporting on organic campaign performance, traffic, conversion, keyword rankings, and ROI
  • Perform ongoing keyword research to discover new opportunities and new trends based on industry and company product evolution
  • Perform content audits to advise campaigns and content creators on when to create new content, update old content, and consolidate older content to ensure rankings and best practices for optimizing user experience
  • Execute on-going on-page SEO audits and identify areas for improvement and work with content creators and teams to implement identified optimizations and improvements
  • Monitor traffic, understand the impact of optimizations as well as external changes - algorithm updates, SERP changes, Google global algorithm changes
  • Collaborate across various teams including Product Marketing, Paid Marketing, Content Marketing, and more to devise effective SEO strategies and enable all teams to learn SEO best practices 
  • Develop technical improvements for page and user experience that will benefit SEO growth and enable our engineering team with SEO insights to ensure proper website development
  • Influence technology development to improve the customer journey
  • Inspire and motivate the team and promote a high-performance environment for creative exploration, innovation, and continuous learning

What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years of total work experience including leading SEO teams at high-growth tech firms  
  • 5+ years of SEO experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience 
  • 3+ years experience driving strategy for industry leading financial technology or mid-market B2B companies 
  • Previous experience at an agency or startup, or as a consultant
  • Demonstrated track record of developing creative solutions and achieving SEO success
  • Command of technical SEO, content management, link-building, keyword research and related skills
  • Strong understanding of enterprise SEO Platforms and tools
  • Execution and results orientation – dissect complex problems, identify solutions, and drive these solutions to completion with a high degree of autonomy
  • Comfort challenging assumptions when they are not well-rationalized
  • Builder mentality– enjoy the process of going from problem to solution regardless of the medium
  • Team-first attitude and communication skills that allow you to influence others at all levels and across all functions within the organization to rally behind shared business goals
  • Mastery of data driven experimentation and exceptional ability to draw insights from both quantitative and qualitative data

Nice to Haves

  • Additional experience in management consulting or investing
  • Statistical literacy and familiarity and proficiency in technical data skills, e.g. SQL, Python and R
  • Experience in growth specific analytics
