This position will be focus heavily on 4 key areas - Global Background check verifications, Immigration compliance and security and finance audit compliance, management of people policies.  The Global HR Compliance Specialist is responsible to oversee and support the company’s immigration programs by working closely with HR Business Partners, Recruiting, Management, employees and external immigration counsel. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert and point of contact with questions and case filings.

What you’ll do

  • Manage global background check function and system, updating all stakeholders of status and ensuring they are complete and compliant
  • Work with outside immigration counsel to ensure full compliance with immigration laws;
  • Facilitate the immigration process including non-immigrant (i. e. OPT/STEM, EAD, H-1B, TN, L-I and J visas) and immigration petitions (permanent residence sponsorship) as it relates to extensions, amendments, transfers, and terminations;
  • Educate hiring managers and employees about Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Labor and Department of State regulations;
  • Respond to all immigration questions, review issues and employee concerns and provide counsel and education in regards to immigration guidelines, legal requirements and procedures;
  • Advise employees regarding restriction for travel outside of the US and general direction related to the visa process;
  • Evaluate foreign national credentials and resolve immigration issues;
  • Manage visa expiration dates for all foreign nationals and files cases in a timely manner;
  • Provides updates to HR Business Partners, Recruiting and employees about visa processes;
  • Coordinates PERM recruitment review with immigration counsel and business managers;
  • Maintain knowledge of changes in immigration policies/regulations and communicate to stakeholders timely;
  • Reviews and tracks vendor invoices and payments relating to immigration;
  • Manage people policies to ensure they are documented and transparent and communicated
  • May assist human resources team on other compliance projects as needed;
  • Provide HR evidence for SOC2 and ISO audits

What you’ll bring

  • A minimum of 3 years of employment- based immigration experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Previous work experience with background check processes
  • Previous work experience in high tech industry.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential employee information appropriately.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion.
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Strong GSuite skills
  • Experience with HireRight is preferred
