What Opentable is looking for in applicants

Locations: Los Angeles/Denver/Remote

With millions of diners, tens of thousands of restaurants, and 23+ years of experience, OpenTable, part of Booking Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: BKNG), is an industry leader with a unique insight into the world of hospitality. We champion restaurants, bars, wineries, and other venues around the world, helping them attract guests, manage capacity, improve operations and maximize revenue.

Every employee at OpenTable has a tangible impact on what we do and how we do it. You’ll also be part of a global network that includes OpenTable and KAYAK's portfolio of travel brands including Swoodoo, checkfelix, momondo, Cheapflights, Mundi and HotelsCombined.

Hospitality is all about taking care of others, and it defines our culture. You’ll work in a welcoming and inclusive environment, and get the benefits, flexibility, and support you need to succeed.

The Restaurant Product Team is dedicated to empowering restaurants to provide great dining experiences. We do this by building industry-leading hospitality solutions that help restaurants, around the globe, run and grow their business. As part of the Product Management team, you’ll help restaurants achieve this goal by providing the solutions to manage their restaurant.

We are seeking a Product Manager to set the direction and roadmap of our Customer Support Platform. This connects both restaurants and diners with the answers they need to get the most out of OpenTable, whether it is managing reservations as a diner or optimizing availability as a restaurant. This person will work closely with support, cross-disciplinary teams, and executive partners to create the product vision, build, and deliver intuitive seamless solutions that enable our users to achieve success.

We are looking for an individual high-energetic and enthusiastic about working with teams, delivering great products and driving impact. The ideal candidate is experienced in launching a successful business and/or consumer-facing products and iterating on them. This individual will bring experience in product discovery and a data and customer-centric approach that will push our product direction forward. The Product Manager will also be responsible for successfully managing trade-offs between technical debt and new features, and eager to learn from failures - not just from successes.

If you are motivated to work on a fast-paced team and share a passion for building great products that customers love, we'd appreciate your application.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive the vision, roadmap, and strategy through a deep understanding of customers and business objectives
  • Lead the identification of user problems, technical development, and launch innovative products
  • Align and connect with cross-functional partners and executives on critical initiatives
  • Iterate app and web experiences to increase engagement and satisfaction, partnering with engineers and product designers
  • Slice and dice data and contextualize it toward rapid growth
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog
  • Partner with UX and Engineering partners on discovery and development tracks
  • Constantly assess customer needs, technology trends, and major competitors

Please apply if you have:

  • 3+ years in a product management role and work experience
  • Exceptional collaboration skills; ability to gain the respect of your product, design, engineering, and product marketing counterparts
  • Experience negotiating with executive and cross-company team members
  • Delivered clear and concise communications across all levels
  • Data-centricity; a deep curiosity for metrics, the ability to identify the right metrics and track and report back on impact
  • Creativity; you will have lots of fresh ideas and a hunger to test them and see the results
  • Experience shipping and managing full stack products and solutions
  • Experience with agile processes and lean methodology
  • Understanding of user experience design principles

  • Work from (almost) anywhere; wherever you do your best work
  • Focus on mental health and well-being
  • Company paid therapy sessions through SpringHealth
