What Messagebird is looking for in applicants

Transform the communications world!

We’re proud (and excited!) to be transforming the global communications landscape through our Omnichannel Platform-as-a-Service (OPaaS).

Head of Product Analytics | Remotely from Amsterdam

The way consumers communicate with businesses and vice-versa is rapidly evolving and at MessageBird we enable businesses to meet these growing expectations.

This is where you come in; we are looking for a leader in Analytics to join our Product organisation. You will oversee the Product Analytics team, set direction and define operational mechanisms and take on the responsibility to expand the team and hire a diverse set of talented analysts that can combine strong technical skills, business acumen and strategy.

The Product Analytics team operates as strategic partner to Leadership and the Product Managers. They educate on best practices for instrumentation, metrics, and insights, and encourage a data-driven culture within the organisation to foster accountability and decision making. The team is close to the customer: understanding their activity, their pain points and needs. You will be at the cradle of new products and bring existing products to the next level of maturity.

You’ll work closely with MessageBird’s Chief Product Officer and will be the driving force behind our Product Analytics vision and strategy.

What you’ll do

  • You will have a deep understanding of MessageBird’s products and the landscape, their performance and go-to-market strategy and are a strategic partner to the CPO;
  • You are deeply passionate about bringing insights to the table, and don’t hesitate to roll up your sleeves to be a player coach;
  • You’ll be fully responsible for the vision and overall success of the Product Analytics team, including strategy, organisational design and hiring;
  • You’ll be responsible for the Product Analytics team’s growth, development and maintaining its high performance;
  • You’ll be working and communicating cross-functionally within distributed Product teams. Therefore, the ability to convince, influence, inspire and enable senior stakeholder management decisions is crucial;
  • You’ll coordinate analyses performed by the team, including presentation of insights and recommendations to company leadership and collaborate with Data Engineering to help define clear, trustworthy, optimised data sources.

What you’ll bring

  • Minimum 5+ years of Analytics Leadership experience. You’ll ideally come from a similar industry, working in B2B SaaS companies with a strong emphasis on Analytics.
  • Excellent leadership skills with 5+ years experience as a people manager, including managing managers, structuring complex organisations and a proven track record of hiring and mentoring employees in-person and remotely.
  • Evidence of building and shaping high-performing Analytics teams and you can clearly articulate to a variety of stakeholders what good should look like.
  • You are detail oriented and have proven hands-on experience in problem-solving and analytical skills, in SQL, towards data quality, in statistics and experimentation;
  • You must have strong communication, storytelling and presentation skills. Strong ability to convince, influence and inspire different audiences and on all levels, including peers, executives and the board.
  • Ability and personality to successfully work in a high pace, rapidly-changing environment.
