What Airbnb is looking for in applicants

Airbnb is a mission-driven company dedicated to helping create a world where anyone can belong anywhere. It takes a unified team committed to our core values to achieve this goal. Airbnb's various functions embody the company's innovative spirit and our fast-moving team is committed to leading as a 21st century company.

Role Summary

The Investor Relations (IR) team is Airbnb’s spokesperson to the investor community. Together with your team, you'll be responsible for providing financial and other related information to Airbnb’s shareholders and the financial community. This includes regularly updating the public on Airbnb’s performance as well as keeping internal stakeholders up to date on the latest financial and industry trends. The IR team runs the quarterly earnings call process, prepares the quarterly shareholder letter, and hosts meetings and events with its sell-side research analysts and institutional shareholders. In addition, you'll participate in helping strategically position and market Airbnb to its current and potential investors, and address any shareholder concerns or questions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Day to day responsibilities include support for the broader IR team, with close coordination across cross functional teams including legal, accounting, finance, communications and the senior executive team, as well as interaction with current and prospective shareholders and sell-side research analysts.
  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly shareholder letter, earnings script and Q&A topics for management.
  • Monitor analyst reports and estimates of financial performance.
  • Build cross-functional relationships to ensure all company external and internal communications are integrated and consistent.
  • Develop and maintain a database of existing and potential investors and sell side research analysts.
  • Field and respond to in-bound analyst and investor inquiries to the IR inbox on routine matters, and/or route as needed to other members of the team.
  • Assist the team in various cross-functional internal projects as needed.

Role Qualifications

The successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics. Airbnb is fast-growing with a flat organizational structure, which means that employees are often asked to perform tasks with a range of difficulties. Candidates must be motivated, disciplined and be able to work autonomously.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in equity research, investor relations, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), or a related investment function.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop trusted relationships with teammates and cross-functional colleagues.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities with attention to detail, including a strong understanding of financial modeling used by investors to project company performance and associated valuation methodologies.

The starting base pay for this role is between $100,000 and $124,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as education, experience and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits and Employee Travel Credits.
