MongoDB is looking to hire a fantastic candidate to fill the position of Legal Counsel - Procurement . We are looking for an exceptional person who has a passion for drafting and negotiating contracts. In addition, this candidate will play a significant role in building out the legal procurement function to bring procurement resources, tools, methodologies and judgment to business units. You will work closely with internal business resources, procurement stakeholders, legal and other stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure all third-party agreements meet MongoDB’s contracting standards and requirements.

This role will be based remotely in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts ranging from software agreements, SOWs, professional services agreements, marketing agreements, and other buy-side agreements
  • Perform risk analysis review for all contractual documents and recommend mitigating options
  • Develop internal processes to improve our ability to scale the legal support we provide
  • Develop and provide training to the business

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of contracts management, paralegal, or other comparable experience at a technology company, law firm, or similar experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • JD or relevant experience required
  • Understanding of data privacy requirements
  • Enthusiasm and "self-starter" qualities enabling him or her to manage responsibilities with an appropriate sense of urgency; the ability to function effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced & dynamic environment
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of collaborating with other teams
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
  • Proactive, dynamic and result driven individual with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage internal customer priorities and needs
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
  • Great sense of humor and does not take himself/herself too seriously
