Due to the continued growth we are experiencing as a company, we are looking for an independent and hardworking Senior Payroll Operations Specialist. This  role will report into the Payroll Manager (Americas) and will be critical in executing our company-wide employee growth initiatives as well as providing excellent support to our employee base. 

You will get the opportunity to use your expert payroll knowledge  to ensure continuing compliance as a company  and in your day to day collaborations  with Regional HR, Accounting and other departments. 

This  position requires a driven individual with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to embrace and drive change in a fast growing environment and be able to research and investigate complex payroll queries.  

This role can be based on the east coast.

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing exempt and non-exempt semi-monthly payroll for the US and support payrolls for Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. 
  • Responsible for tasks such  as processing special payrolls, statutory and supplemental benefits, income taxation and stock compensation.
  • Perform in-depth investigations and root cause analysis when  resolving queries  such as  income taxation,  taxation of stock based compensation and the impact of telecommuting and relocation on taxation
  • Assist with key projects and initiatives to transform and streamline payroll processes including identifying processes to be improved and documented, collaborate and partner with different functions to ensure processes are running efficiently,  implementing new benefits set up and taxation in ADP.
  • Work as a subject matter professional on issues relating to payroll.
  • Ensure compliant and accurate reporting of payroll taxes and assist with  performing  Monthly, Quarterly and Year End reconciliations.
  • Work with Payroll Manager and Payroll Lead on developing and implementing new procedures/practices resulting from policy additions and/or system enhancements. 
  • Assist in reconciling payroll before transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Liaise  with Regional HR,  Accounting, Tax Compliance, and  Stock Administration teams to maintain up-to-date employee database information.
  • Assist with staying  up to date on regulation and compliance changes by liaising with our tax consultants on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist Accounting with reconciling payroll-related and general ledger accounts.
  • Analyze and explain payroll-related account variances.
  • All other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • At least five years of US payroll experience and running end to end payroll 
  • Understanding of payroll and HR legislation and processes - i.e., interpretation of legislation and taxes
  • Ability to investigate and research complex tax regulations  to resolve complex employee queries
  • Experience in a high volume company supporting  a population of 10k+ employees preferably
  • Drive to streamline processes and grow to scale
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll and employee issues
  • Experience with processing equity transactions (RSUs, ESPP or Stock Options is preferable)
  • Experience with Google Applications and MS Excel
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to multi task
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with ADP WFN (any ADP platforms) and SuccessFactors (HRIS system)
